About the Fund
The Detroit Firemen's Fund Association was founded in 1866 for the purpose of providing aid to the widows of fallen fire fighters.
As members of the Fund, we are there to provide assistance and support to families during their time of need. It is during these difficult times, that we are there to help.
Our membership is comprised of both active and retired fire fighters, and is supported by membership dues, fund raisers, and other monetary donations by concerned patrons in our community.
We also volunteer our time with community activities. Our special Clown Team and Thrill Team provide entertainment for the community and have put a smile on children's faces when they are ill or recovering from serious injuries or burns.
Fire Fighters are a special breed, they don't preach the life of brotherhood they live it.

Detroit Fire Department Weight Loss Challenge
If you have already failed at your New Year’s resolutions to lose weight—the time is now to start over again.
This weight loss challenge is for anyone interested in losing weight.
The challenge is a 12 week contest.
Beginning weigh-ins will take place March 8th and March 9th at Engine 44 Ladder 18’s Firehouse. Located at 7 Mile and John R. all day starting at 8 o’clock at A.M.
Final weigh-ins are held at the same location. June 1st and June 2nd
The winner will be based on percentage of weight lost. $20 Entry Fee – Winner Takes All!
