About the Fund
The Detroit Firemen's Fund Association was founded in 1866 for the purpose of providing aid to the widows of fallen fire fighters.
As members of the Fund, we are there to provide assistance and support to families during their time of need. It is during these difficult times, that we are there to help.
Our membership is comprised of both active and retired fire fighters, and is supported by membership dues, fund raisers, and other monetary donations by concerned patrons in our community.
We also volunteer our time with community activities. Our special Clown Team and Thrill Team provide entertainment for the community and have put a smile on children's faces when they are ill or recovering from serious injuries or burns.
Fire Fighters are a special breed, they don't preach the life of brotherhood they live it.
Sincerely,
The Board of Trustees
John Fred Anderson - Secretary

As 2010 takes off the Fund continues to keep
our important programs valid. Your membership
supports the DFD band, the honor guard, the
clown team, college scholarships, and Field Day.
As the secretary, I'm working to keep all mem-
bers claims and requests up to date.
2010 Memorial Day was a special event with the
unveiling of the 1937 Seagrave restored and leading
the march to Mt. Elliott. The Fund is proud to present
this moniker of our history and acknowledge all of those
who gave their time and talents to make the project a
success.

My wife continues to seek missing photos of
Detroit firefighters to complete the current collect-

ion which amounts to 6200 now. Get more info
at www.detroitfirebooks.com. We spoke to the
Oakland Township Historical Society recently
and were able to add several pictures from their
members.
